1st Birthday Ideas: How to Throw a Jungle Animal Themed Party

My wife and I threw a Jungle Animal Themed party for our son, who just turned 1. Ever since he started exploring, crawling, and cruising we thought a Jungle Animal theme would be appropriate ;-)

Party Invitations

Party Food
Bagels, loches and cream cheese
The party was held outside between 11:00 am – 2:00 pm, so we served brunch. Bagels, loches, and cream cheese were big hits with both the kids and adults.

The berry salad satisfied our need for something colorful, sweet and healthy.

Cake
Monkey Cakes
My wife made Monkey Cake to go along with the Jungle Animal Theme. Yum!
The big cake is a 3 layer banana cake, and the little smash cake is two layers. Both feature chocolate fudge and vanilla buttercream frosting….
…and it didn’t take long for our lil’ monkey to be covered from head-to-toe!

Party Supplies
We bought napkins, plates, party hats, bubbles, balls, and helium balloons on Amazon.com. We stuck to the Jungle Animal Theme whenever possible, and wove everything together with a blue, orange and green color scheme.
