Avast ye! This weekend I performed for a pirate themed birthday party in Prospect Park, near the 9th Street and Prospect Park West entrance. ‘Twas a pa-arrrrggh-ty to remember!
The guest of honor was turning 6, and 20 of his best buccaneers were invited to the celebration. Yo ho ho!
First, the party started with plenty of play sword fights, running around and games.
Next, it was time for the main event…. a pirate themed magic show!
During the magic show, there was tons of hornswaggling to keep the children and parents dazzled and delighted.
After the show, I made balloon-swords for each lil’ pirate.
And, blimey, you can bet your treasure I personalized the show by including pirate themed magic, to boot! :-)
My favorite memory was when the birthday boy came up to be my assistant. When I made a magician’s hat and wand magically appear, Freddie took off his pirate gear so that he could wear his magic hat and be “the first magician pirate to sail the seas.”
Here’s the review his Mom wrote online after the show:
“Evan was great. We had an outside show in the park for my 6 year old and he did an excellent job keeping the kids and parents entertained.”
