This weekend I had the honor of performing for a Dol Ceremony at Lafayette Restaurant, located at 380 Lafayette Street, New York, NY.
The Dol or doljanchi is a beautiful Korean tradition that celebrates the first birthday of a baby. The celebration is filled with rituals, amazing food, and family fun.

I was delighted to have the chance to perform my magic show for the children during this special occasion.
While I kept the children roaring with laughter and wide-eyed with amazement, the parents had a chance to relax, socialize and enjoy their meals.
My favorite memory from the show? If I had to pick one, it would be the looks of surprise and delight on the children’s faces when I made a giant 8′ magic wand appear!
It takes a village to throw a successful Korean Dol, and I had the pleasure of working with some of the best event professionals in NYC.
Jessica Jeong, an Event Designer at Angi & Co has a natural ability for making things beautiful, and she did an exceptional job coordinating and designing the celebration.
The balloon-artistry from Silly Cheeks added to the fun and festive atmosphere, and every child leave with a balloon-sculpture and a beaming smile.
The joy and happiness of the event were captured through the professional photography of Elizabeth Baxter, one of the most friendly and attentive photographers I’ve ever met.
I had so much fun at Owen’s 1st Birthday Party at Lafayette Restaurant. Thanks so much for having me!
Special Thanks to the Korean Dol Celebration Team
