Planning a virtual birthday party? Since this is probably the first virtual birthday you’ve ever planned, it’s hard to know where to begin!
Well, it’s time to get inspired!

If I were you, I’d be asking myself, “Why should I listen to YOU?”
It’s a good question! So let me introduce myself.
My name is Evan and I’ve been a professional children’s magician for over 10 years. I’ve worked with closely with parents to produce over 300 virtual birthdays, and have been featured in Business Insider, Red Tricycle, on PIX11 and more.
This year’s celebration might look differently than years past, but it’s still possible to throw a fun and special birthday. My mission is to share the resources you need to make that a reality.
Here are 5 of my favorite resources for making party planning a piece of cake!
Way more fun than a paper invitation or greeting card, the Marco Polo App makes it easy to send and receive video recordings between friends and family. Add voice lters (like the robot and helium eect) for sure- re laughs and fun.
Invite guests to record themselves wishing the guest of honor Happy Birthday, and your child will have a memory that can be treasured forever.
Zmurl.com is my go-to resource for inviting people to events on Zoom. It allows you to send beautiful invites, schedule reminders, customize the page with your own photo – and it’s free.
Netix Party is a free Chrome extension that allows you to watch Netix remotely with friends. What I like most is that there’s a group chat so that everyone can talk while enjoying the movie together. Invite everyone to bring their own snacks, and you’ll be ready for a movie night to remember.
Founded in 1996, Birthday in a Box oers high-quality, imaginative tableware, party favors and supplies based on the most popular children’s themes and characters – and it’s all delivered right to your door. Adding some decorations will create the festive party atmosphere and make your child feel extra special.
The Virtual Background feature on Zoom allows you to display an image or video as your background. I’ve performed for Star Wars themed birthdays, for example, where everyone shows up with their own themed virtual background.
Invite guests to download the background “as is,” or customize it to their heart’s content – the sky’s the limit! Check out Canva for 100+ free, customizable Zoom virtual background templates.
