Hi, I’m Evan, or ‘Magic Evan,’ as known to over 1 million children and families who’ve seen me perform over the past decade.
If you want to turn your celebration into an event that’s engaging, inclusive and memorable, then you’re in the right place!
I believe it’s the experiences we share that give life it’s spice and flavor. When the audience is beaming with joy, belly laughing and wide-eyed with amazement, then I’m doing what I was put here to do.
One day, when I was 8 years old, I went to the library and found a magic book — I was hooked.
What I loved most was the idea that performing magic is like giving someone a gift.
Because of that idea, I set up a meeting with my elementary school principal about performing for the entire school. I shared my vision for a magic show with strobe lights, a wind machine and large illusions (I thought I was David Copperfield).
My principal let me perform at the next school assembly. Admittedly, the show was scaled down (just a tad)…
…but I performed my first magic show when I was in the 3rd grade.
To continue learning how to use the arts to make a positive difference, I went to college to earn a B.A. in English and Theater from Rutgers and a Masters Degree in Educational Theater from New York University.
I went on to partner with dynamic organizations, such as Rosie’s Theater Kids, The Leadership Program, LeAp, Inside Broadway and more, to inspire, empower and prepare children for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
TimeOut, RedTricycle, CBS New York and more recognize me as one of the “Best Magicians for Kids in NY.”
Chances are you or someone you know has seen me on NBC Universal’s Sprout Channel, in-person at one of 3,000+ shows, or – more recently – at a live virtual event.
My darling wife, Lara, and I are blessed to have a son named Asher and a daughter named Louisa. I consider myself to be one of the luckiest guys in the entire world.
