- Over-stimulating the guests
It is super easy to get carried away… your child only turns this age once, after all! That being said, the anticipation and excitement around the party can be a lot to handle (for grown-ups, too). Keep it structured and manageable so that everyone leaves happy and excited to return for next year’s party.
- Waiting until the last minute
The best venues, entertainers, and caterers book up quickly. To avoid disappointment, try to plan 6-8 weeks in advance whenever possible.
- Scheduling conflicts
Before locking in the date, check the family calendar, school calendar, and with your child’s best friend. If you’re planning on arranging an appearance by a professional children’s entertainer, schedule it at least 30 minutes into the party so that guests don’t miss out.
- Relying on good weather
Have a back-up plan and save yourself from the hassle, stress and disappointment of rescheduling. Re-scheduling can be a big pain (and expensive).
- Doing it all yourself
An extra helping hand or two will make a world of a difference, and means you’ll be able to enjoy this milestone with friends and family
