It was a beautiful, sunny Monday afternoon in June. Riley was turning 6!
Entering the park near West 64th Street and Central Park West, Riley’s friends gathered under a tree-lined spot.
The air buzzed with excitement as her friends ate, drank iced cold water and spoke about what was coming next.
Before long, it was time for the magic show to begin!
First, I kept the children entranced and wide-eyed with amazement with 30 minutes of magic, slapstick comedy and sleight-of-hand.
Next, everyone took the Magician’s Oath, became an honorary magician, and went ‘behind-the-scenes’ to learn the secrets to some amazing tricks.
Each child received their own Spectacular Bag of Tricks, and – by all accounts – continued having fun making things float and disappear after the party was over!
My favorite memory? It’s hard to pick just one, but I’ll always remember the look of wonder on Riley’s face when I made a Rubik’s cube magically appear inside a glass jar…. and gave it to her to keep.
Finally, everyone sang “Happy Birthday” and made some delicious birthday cake “disappear” What a fun time!
After the party, her parents kindly left the following review online:
“Magic Evan performed for my daughter’s 6th birthday. He was a big hit. He kept the kids engaged despite the 100 degree weather, and was highly entertaining for the kid and adult audiences. In the planning stages he was enormously helpful and communicative, was right on time the actual day, and kept everyone oohing, aahing and laughing throughout. I couldn’t recommend him higher.” – Mara G., New York, NY
I had so much fun performing for Riley’s party in Central Park. Thank you for having me!
