Trend #1: NYC Families are Leading in Vaccinations, Boosters, Testing and Masking
We know what it takes to protect our families and our community, and we’re doing it!
As of January 2022, the NYC Department of Health reports that over 92% of NYC adults and 56% of children have already been vaccinated. To find a vaccination site near you, click here.
As this upward trend continues, more families will be able to safely celebrate in-person again.
Trend #2: Instead of Cancelling, Families are Celebrating Together Virtually
I’ve helped a lot of parents plan virtual parties that are interactive, engaging and truly special.
In fact, during a recent virtual show, the guest of honor had family from California, New York, Maryland and India!

Trend #3: NYC Birthday Parties are Taking Place Outdoors – Even During the Wintertime!
I just performed for an outdoor birthday in Forest Hills, NY… in the middle of December!
Blankets, a tent, and outdoor space heaters meant that everyone could relax, engage and enjoy the show.
Trend #4: Venues Are Re-Imagining Their Spaces and Safety Protocol
So that families can celebrate together safely, venues are adding enhanced safety measures.
For example, venues are adding touchless sanitizer stations, HVAC systems, additional outdoor areas, and proof of vaccination requirements.
Cocoon, Time Out Market, and Dance with Miss Rachel are just a few of the NYC venues I’ve recently performed at that are implementing these enhanced safety measures.
Trend #5: Experts Are Optimistic
Scientists are forecasting that the Omicron wave could peak in January, which means families are already planning birthday parties for late January, early February and beyond!
Central Park, New York, NY Harry Potter Themed Birthday
A parent recently contacted me about performing for her daughter’s 9th birthday party.
When the Mom first came to me, she explained she was planning a casual outdoor party in Central Park.
During our quick phone chat, I also learned that her daughter loves Harry Potter.
I suggested bringing blankets for the children to sit on, and stayed in touching leading up to the celebration with party tips.
On the day of the party, I performed a Harry Potter themed show that featured magic with the Hogwarts Express, money from Gringotts, a Time Turner and more.
Then, I kept everyone mesmerized with a magic class. Each child received their own bag of tricks to take home.
