Virtual Birthday Party Celebration
The birthday girl was turning 8, and the plan was to celebrate at home with friends and family.
Because of the COVID-19 quarantine, the original plan was cancelled… but the fun could still go on!
I spoke with the parents, and we co-created a virtual birthday party experience to make their daughter feel extra special.
On the day of the party, over 20 families met on Zoom to celebrate.
Kicking off the party… my virtual magic show!
I kept the kids beaming, belly-laughing and wide-eyed with amazement by making objects disappear, magically travel through the air, and – to hilarious effect – take on a life of their own.
After the magic show, the parents brought out a birthday cake, lit the candles and everyone sang Happy Birthday.
My favorite memory? I loved the look of delight on the birthday girl’s face when I asked her to help me during the show. Hearing her friends clap and cheer for her is a moment I’ll always remember.
